Look at this short video at TWS this year with the same camera mounted to the roof:

BTW, was anybody else bugged by the snail-like speed of the pace car.

Pain in the *** and tough to get any heat on a 40* morning.

Man it always seems like that happens... I think they give the pace car driver spot away to people as an honorary position and the people behind the wheel think it is best to take the longest to get around the track. Slow pace cars make for dangerous starts for CUPs and GT cars. Almost guaranteed to spin one by corner 2 or 3....
The best place I have seen is Sebring where they have the pace car take off 3/4 of the way around the track and then slow down and pick up the field. much better way to go. I guess they think we will get lost and not make it to the start line if they do not baby sit us by going 15 mph....

That's been a problem in some PCa races. I have complained. We have gotten 2 warmup laps in the GT3 cup group at Lime Rock because it's so short, but the pace car still needs to get up to speed.

We got two laps (thank goodness) in the cold morning races, but nonetheless, it's tough at 15mph.

My starts are bad enough, but I learned a few big lessons over the weekend.

Yes, racing is everything ya'll said it would be and more. The crack pipe is lit and needs fuel already.
Great work Kai! Sounds like a fantastic launch into competition, despite a few bumps along the way. Way to wear the 964 badge loud and proud! Anything more for this year, or will we have to pick this up next year?

Unless I'm forced out to the left coast for biz, we will be at MSR end of the month.

Me too, though from the looks of some of the cars that went spinning off on warmups, we might have been going too fast...

You should have a bit more compassion for those of us who have many hundreds of horsepower and large supplies of grooveless tires covered in stickers. It's quite a challenge keeping all that rained in at 15mph in non optimal conditions. Also please stop rushing us at the start of races, it's a bit annoying seeing non GT cars in my mirrors the first few turns. Maybe a split start is in order......

It sure was cold and slipperry Saturday. Some clown in the stock/blue group lost it in turn 4, trying to get heat in the tires during the double yellow lap of the practice 3/qualifying run. He ended up on the grass to the right.

Can you believe it!! what an idiot. Wait a minute, that was me!!
