Have you guys seen this? Limited sizes but they have mine! I wonder when they will be available and how they are?

I've heard from someone that tested these tires that they produce faster lap times, but wear faster too.
So this is the new spec tire for NASA, what about wet treaded tires? The RA1 has been great for so long, I hope that this doesn't turn out to be another bust like the 888.
If they wear too fast then I can't see this as a positive for all the spec classes that use them...

It is to be the spec tire for SM, Spec e30 and 944 Spec - not sure on other classes at this time. As for wets they may allow full tread RA1s. I'm sure there will be an overlap rule allowing us to run dry setup RA1s as well. But it might be a disadvantage as the RR should be faster as a slick than the RA1 would be.

The 275/35R18 Toyo RR's are available. They are as fast as Hoosiers in most cases with longer life. They don't fall off as abruptly. Of course car set up and driving style play a huge part in comparison of tires.

I am going to run my second set in an enduro this weekend. So far I can say that they are very friendly to drive at the limit, don't seem to fall off or overheat easily, and were very consistent in performance through almost 5 hours of enduro. I don't know how well they heat cycle - not sure that anyone has really good data on that yet.
Compared to the BFG R1 (usual enduro tire):
-RR's are at least as fast (set new track record on them at a track Neal & I have many hundreds of laps at).
-They are significantly easier to drive - better feedback, and smoother grip/slide transitions at the limit.
-They might have slightly less braking grip (subjective)
Compared to the RA-1:
-Better turn in and set, without being twitchy. Going back to the RA-1 made it feel like my shocks were worn.
-Better lateral grip (braking grip seem more similar to RA-1)
-Similar friendly feel at the limit - just .1G higher.

I'll be racing on these in an eight-hour enduro, later this month.
I'd be pleased to offer feedback based on that experience.
FWIW, they'll be on an E30 BMW "PRO3" car (think NASA SpecE30, but with better suspension).
The feedback that Sterling Doc provided is similar to what I've gleaned so far in listening to others who've experienced them also.
