Nice racing with you and the other Porsche's this weekend...

So whats the final verdict from you on the wheel size? Better or not so much?
Or need more time to tell?

Hi Dick,

Always a pleasure racing with you, you did a great job. I will try to dial in the car a bit more before I really know if the 15" rears are faster. They do feel really good when past the limit, but they get there faster than the 245/45/16 as far as I can tell.

The gearing would certainly help once I get a race engine and can take advantage of the high RPM running.

Dick - with stock SC R&P and gearing the answer, IMHO, is "depends on the track". You will shift more, you will go through rears faster, and in many corners where there was no "right" gear you now have one (T7 at WGI comes to mind). It turns a D or E Stock SC from a 4 speed into a 5 speed..

Gary - Are you using 2 thru 5 or are you using 3 thru 5 instead of 2 thru 4? Does it have enough gear for places like Daytona (only track I used 5th gear with 17" rims)?

I did some calcs and with normal 24" rears my car will 150+ at 7000. With the short tires it will do 142 at 7000 (but redline is 7200 or so...).

Do cars like a 210HP 911RS reach 140 at Daytona?

White car seemed to make a jerky move to shoot around the blue car, other blue car couldn't avoid. Glad it wasn't worse but two nice cars got damaged, bet the blue one is bent pretty good..

I had a D stock running BFG R1's in 255/40/17 in the rear (approx 24.75"). In the one dry session at Daytona last year I think it was turning somewhere around 6,300 (+- a couple hundred) before braking into T1. Video was damaged by subsequent wet sessions so I don't know for sure.

analogmike - to answer your question, do "911 RS with 210 HP, stock gearing reach 140 at daytona?" YES. I would say faster, now the fun part, slowing for turn 1!!
