Track tire size for '92 C2 coupe 17's
Advice would be greatly appreciated as I am "tire challenged". In an effort to save on cost, I went back to original 17 inch Cup 1 wheels from RH 18's. After using Toyo R-888's for several DE events, I found them to get "greasy" after about 20-25 minutes when heat builds. Decided to look at other options. Trying to get either RA-1's or considering Nitto 01's. What size are you using on 7 inch/9 inch Cups? Are these tires available for my 20 year old wheels?
I do drive to and from the track so Hoosiers will not work.
Thanks for all the help and info.

REARS-You can use 255/40/17 (stock size) but most will go to 275/40/17 for rears. RA1 and Nitto NT01 have that size
Also look at Hankook Z214
FRONTS- 235/40/17 is about as big as you can readily fit on 7, more commonly 225/45/17.
You might look for 7.5 (Turbo or 928GTS) or 8 inch fronts, (911 rears) to use up front and then you can use up to 245/40/17
I have an early 911 (SC) but with 8&9 inch wheels that is my setup; 275R and 245F
