finally, drive train is ready to go in! It didn't exactly ''fit''. The intake manifold was running into the front/top of the surrounding engine firewall. Made some spacers to drop the front of the motor a bit and did some trimming.

Also found out that I can't get the axels in now without unfastening the shock from the upright. Guess there isn't enough droop travel in the rears shocks and/or reduced angularity from the low clearance cv boots. Just little things here and there that remind you how easy the BSR was to work with. Drivetrain is in though!

The intake system is going to be pretty basic for now. The intake scoop on the right side of the car now directs air through the right rear quarter panel into the trunk. Then some 3'' aluminum pipe runs off of the throttle through a currently unused wiring passage into the trunk.

Bad to the bone.
I'm looking forward to hearing your feedback after you flog it around the track.

Just a couple days left to the first track outing and things are looking good. Finally got a chance to fire her up and take a spin down the street. Initial impression is WOW is it quick.

We put together an exhaust quickly for the 92 db limit at Laguna Seca next weekend. We used a total of four Flowmasters hushpower mufflers.

Then handed the car over to Neel at APEX for some of his tuning magic on the Pectel ECU. We ran it on race fuel and power kept creeping up along with timing advance. We ran out of fuel with the stock injectors and had to move up to the 3.8L 997S units. Then the power really kept coming until we called it good at 335rwhp. The plan was to restrict down to about 310 and that was done using the drive by wire throttle. It actually closes to about 60% throttle to keep the power down in the higher RPM's. So we have a great GT racing motor with 300+rwhp through the entire shift range and it is tuned very conservatively.

Then I could finish up installing the rest of the interior. Starting to look like the old cockpit I remember!

ready for some suspension set-up now!
Just need to finish up on the rear wing, install the lexan windshield, change the oil, and give everything one last look before we head out to the track for the weekend.

Very nice. You mentioned rear wing. That means more than the stock air dam as seen in your last pic?

Really nice job, as was the original build. What's the final weight? Looks to be a monster will be interested in the results at the track.
