C1 Cup to Cayman Interseries to 962. What's your next car? Amazing. And was wondeing why the steering wheel is on the passenger side of the compartment. Of course the question is purely academic...

Dan,

I have a framed black and white poster of this car crossing the finish line right in front of the #3 Torno car at the 87 Rolex 24. I saw the poster a few years ago at Daytona, loved it and subsequently made the purchase.

Good luck with the car, it's stunning.

I sat in this car and steered it into the garage (sadly not under its own power). I have framed the jeans I was wearing at the time.

I bought a poster of Derek Bell driving a 962 at Rennsport Reunion in Daytona which he then signed for me there when we met, I have to check but IIRC, it was this car in the poster.

If it indeed is this car and you're interested, as long as you promise to hang it on the wall next to car and post a pic for us here on Rennlist, I'll give it to you.

Am I reading that right - does that boost gauge go to 20 bar (or is it the much more civil 2.0 bar)? How much boost does one of those things make?

The gage also shows "05" which is probably 0.5 bar.

I will never own one. But I've driven one of Wayne's at the Streets of Willow Springs. It's a surprisingly easy car to drive.

I'm still grateful, and one of my Bucket List items definitely gets a check -- although I still want to get Wayne out on the 2.5 mile circuit there.

Post the question on Pelican and I'm sure Wayne will be able to point you to whatever you need. I think he owns two of them, now.

Thanks for all of the leads on the socket. I am in the process of shipping the car to Kevin at Gunnar Racing so I will ask him to find a socket.

BTW Holbert Racing used two cars during their IMSA championship seasons that included chassis 103 (the endurance race car) and chassis HR1 (the sprint race car). I bought chassis HR1 which was far less expensive than 103.

Dan

The Blue one here would look good in the garage next to the Lowenbrau car

The 962s (and many other Le Mans racers) are RHD because Le Mans and many other circuits are clockwise, therefore making most of the corners right hand turns. The driver is thus able to get a better sightline of the apex of the majority of the turns.

Nice car BTW, it is great fun watching these at the Monterey Historics and Rennsport Reunion.

The driving position feels more like the middle of the car. It is very tight inside. I think having a 2 seater car was a requirement which seems to beg the question of where the fuel pumps are supposed to go if a 2nd seat is installed.
