VIR Club Race Roll Call
#16
Hey Mark, if H and SPB are in opposing groups I will happily help for your enduro fueling etc. in return for same in mine.
I'm hauling from Texas because summer is pretty quiet over here and as an ex Nor'easter I love VIR.
See you there.

I would be surprised to see only one group. The closing speed differential between SP1 and the cups could be 50 MPH. D and Cups 40+. That is hair raising.
If they schedule them like Sebring - all before noon - that would be great. Races over by lunch. Home by dinner. In that case, I could do the enduro.
I was expecting an 'after the Glen' bump, but it hasn't happened yet. Still time. Come on down!

Speed differentials are definitely something to consider.

VIR CR schedule
Currently planning two enduro run groups - but could be combined at the Steward's call based on numbers. I think 77 is small enough for a single group but will to see.
Current schedule has an enduro warm-up Sunday morning (0910 through 0945). BMW sprint race is late morning, then the Porsche Enduros are 1220 through 3:50PM. Last events are a DE group and a final BMW Fun Race.
No plans for any combined BMW & Porsche races; I'm told insurance is the problem.
For the DE crowd, this is a great opportunity for track for advanced drivers. The racing will take priority if the schedule slides for any reason, but there a 5 DE sessions on FRI (varies from 25 to 40 minutes), 4 sessions each on SAT & SUN.
Will be a great mix of cars - hope to see you there!

I'm still in. To my disappointment one of the D cars pulled out right after the Glen. I wonder if he had a mechanical after finishing the enduro. I hope more sign up. Don Bryant was planning on signing up after the Glen - so far he's a no show. (maybe worried about the heat )
It has not been a very hot spring. I bet it doesn't reach 90 that weekend. Come on Gary, Sean join us at VIR.
BMW seldom has a lot of participants. Many drive Spec E30s and race with NASA.

Bring you wife to the event. Mine is coming this time and they could keep each other company while the men play.
I wish there were 6 - 10 Ds. Lot more fun with a big field.

Well, the spin meister show up! I want you to be there to show me around the track so I can run you down during the race. I called you on Monday after the Glen for an update. You don't get messages?

Great idea about parking. I plan to get there Thursday afternoon. Originally I was going to do the T&T and arrive on Wednesday. No T&T? WTF! Talk about helping out the home team.

I will not be getting there until about 5 PM Thursday. I'll send you a map showing where we prefer to park.

Voila! Ask and ye shall receive.
This is the simple version writeup, derived from twelve years and 12000+ laps turning between 1:42 and 2:52 (IMSA GTP to 750cc Fiat Abarth) on the full course and is supported by data.
Sorry I'll miss you guys. Will be at Mid-Ohio that week/weekend...
