Twilight HPDE Event at Pocono!
Pocono Raceway - North Course!
Friday July 20, 2012 - 4:00pm to 12:00am
Sign up early as this event is sure to sell out! Registration closes July 12, 2012
Join the Motorsports Rehabilitation Foundation for our Pocono Twilight North Course High Performance Driver Education (HPDE) Event.
This is the first event of this type to be offered in the Northeast!
This event is open for all Solo, Advanced Drivers and Instructors.
There will be no student assignments at this event.
MRF is providing the following:
Limited number of participants.
Track time in daylight and as the sun goes down, a night track event.
As the sun goes down the lights will come on at the flag stations and the corners.
Flag stations will be manned by Professional Flaggers.
Track Side Dinner. There will be a banquet style dinner with serving stations consisting of pasta, salad, snacks and beverages and of course, coffee will be available throughout the night.
Event Shirts!
Reflective numbers for your car.
Professional coaching on night track driving.
The opportunity to be one of the first to participate in a Twilight Track Event!
Tax Exempt Receipt
The day/night schedule will be:
Gates open at 4:00pm
Registration and Tech Inspection from 4:00pm to 5:00pm
Drivers Meeting at 5:00pm
First car on track at 6:00pm
Dinner provided from 7:30 to 8:30pm
Track closes at 12:00am
Location:
The event will be run on the North Course at Pocono Raceway in Longpond, PA. The "North Course" features a 1.5 mile road course with 9 challenging turns and utilizes a portion of the high bank oval and turn 3 of the NASCAR circuit. There will be a full service paddock space. Amenities on this circuit include concession buildings, event garages, cafeteria and fuel pumps.

Motorsports Rehabilitation Foundation (MRF) is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) corporation whose mission is to provide financial assistance to those who have become injured or have perished while participating in a sanctioned motorsports event. This event will help perfect your night driving since this is an HPDE event.
Lessons and skills learned at these events really do transfer to everyday driving, as we all know. Now we have the opportunity to perfect our skills at twilight! There really is no better way to improve your skills.
This is not a racing school, nor is it a competitive event. Anyone found timing laps will be removed from the event.
Note: While the event organizers will make every effort to maximize track time, due to the possible track conditions and weather the number of sessions and session length can not be guaranteed.
The event organizers and Directors at MRF, Scott Lynn, Michele Randall and Eugene Hahn have over 20 years experience in HPDE's through the Porsche Club of America and Audi Club of America and have successfully hosted other HPDE events at Pocono Raceway.

When did Pocono install nighttime lighting? Are they planning on running NASCAR at night?
Very interesting. I never drove at night. It might be scary around the paddock area. That's when all the creatures come out.

StoogeMoe... We are providing lighting on the North Course and not to worry... in the paddock area as well...
