OK, cool., whatever works best for you. Didn't know about the Vette, congrats! Regarding Penskes, back in February, I helped a client (in a Porsche) dial in 3-way Penskes at Road Atlanta. they take a while, but they are verrrrrry niiiiice once they get set up properly.

I'll be running the Spec Miata. I was racing at Hastings last weekend and lost 3rd gear so had to run the track in 4th the whole time which was interesting as how little low end torque these cars make even with a 1.8.

How old do you have to be to do a drivers ed with NASA? I just got my 15 year old a Boxster and I would like to start getting him some track time. I'd really like to get him with you Dave. Like most things, it's a lot easier to learn coming from someone else.

The CCR makes room for those under 16, however they must be signed off by regional directors after a few criteria are met; i.e., experience, on track time and a few others.

Page 41 ish, I believe.

I had a 12 y.o. partner at comp school last weekend. Neat kid!!!

Yeah, he's had a couple of his karting buddies run in SM with NASA. It's amazing how talented some of these young shoes are.

For DE - you must be at least 18 or you can be as young as 16 with parental consent. You must have a drivers license. However in 14.2 it gives regions discretion to allow drivers younger with proven experience and maturity to compete / sign up for DEs.

I thought this was funny when doing a quick perusal...
15.20 Ballast
Unless superseded by class rules, all ballast shall be solid metal such as steel, lead, or uranium, and consist of a minimum of five (5) pounds per piece. Each piece should be bolted in place with through-bolts, fender washers, and a locking-nut / system (e.g. jamnuts, Nylox, etc.). All bolts should be grade five (5). There should be at least one 3/8” diameter bolt for every ten (10) pounds of weight (e.g. 20 pound block uses two bolts).

Got a call on my Penske's today. My fronts were dead & not holding more that 20psi of rebound. That should make a difference @ Hallett.

If i use Uranium for Ballast I think ill have some questions to answer at the Border Patrol checkpoint when I head north for each race.

I just completed NASA comp school at hastings last weekend, and am headed out on Thursday for my PCA rookie weekend.

I will wait till my PCA races to determine iffn I'll come down to Hastings to race. If so, it may be Sat or Sun only...and if enough cars register in TTS, I may run down to win some tires.

There should be 5 cars in GTS-4 if you register. We have Jay in the 996 & 3 M3's so far.

Damn! And ya'll want my first real NASA race to be the Mid-Summer Nationals.

Tell you what - if I see '34.xx twice at Hastings, I'll be at Hallett Sat., if not, I'll come down to watch Jay run 1:20.12. I'm worth 22's right now, and that's it.

Hey its much more fun to run that to watch! I have learned allot chasing Jay & other in the group. Faster competition will make you better BTW that 1.22 is very respectable.

Come on down !
But if you will be watching for Jay running 20's then you will miss the front of the car and only see the taillights !
I'll step out on a limb again and say we are going for the 18's at Hallett !
Damn the torpedoes !
