New Download option for AIM Pista
AiM has built a USB download adapter that now uses the same cable as Motec, a common USB printer cable. This is a great option for those of you that deal with cars using AIM and Motec. Now they all can be downloaded with the same cable. This whole setup is cheaper than the current AIM download cable alone. It comes with the adapter, that is bulkhead mounted, plugs into the BIN USB cable from the dash harness, and includes a download cable. All of this for $45.00. I added one to my car and makes life simpler because I do a lot of Motec downloading also.

hi jerry
i have this remote usb in my car . i find that when it is connected , if i use the regular aim cord plugged into the mxl directly i get an error message about the usb driver . if i disconnect the remote unit then the mxl connector works again. is this the way it is suppose to work
the reason it is important is that the remote (motec cord type) is on the passenger side so hopefully i would be able to download data fro either side
thank you

roger thank you very much. yes the remote works normally when connected but then the mxl connector does not . you mention that the remote has to be connected to the correct cable in the harness ,but that cable or connector is easy to mistake . how do you know which is the correct one .
thank you

It will be labeled "USB" with a small printed white tag and clear shrink-wrap. It is the same type of 4 pin Binder connector as all 8 analog channel and speed connectors.

hi jerry , it is very weird . we do have it connected to the lead as described . it will work ,but when it is connected we get an error message about usb drivers if we attempt to communicate with the mxl using the port on the mxl. we tried 3 computers all with the same result . it is not a huge problem ,just a little inconvenient. thanks to all for the advice

You are going to be at WG club race correct? I'll be there and would like to try my download cable to the dash. I really think that is the problem.
