Some if of the so-called aluminum trailers I've seen have steel frames especially Featherlite's. That's no different than any major manufacture's standard old trailers.
KaiB is your 28ft ATC on a aluminum frame. I ask because my 28ft Pace also weighs 4,000 empty and it's a standard steel frame with .030 aluminum siding inside and out....

I would gladly run GTS4 if there were any cars in class but there's only a few out West and I need 5 for Yokohama's tire contingency, my main motivation....

Yep along with tube framed Mazda GT's, BMW's, and the occasional Mitsubishi Evo. The Corvette are great competition as we have some really great drivers out here. Finishes are always close....
I would gladly run GTS4 if there were any cars in class but there's only a few out West and I need 5 for Yokohama's tire contingency, my main motivation....

It's an ATC Quest, fully alu - I was underneath it yesterday.
I'll have to go check about the weight now when it stops raining. Don't know how I came up with the 4K# figure, it just stuck to me somehow.
EDIT: It's listed at 3,300#.

By the time you buy one of those all aluminum trailers to save weight you could have bought a heavy duty truck and a less expensive and heavier trailer. Seems like you would be a head. Featherlite runs in the 20k range. I have heard there is a mid-west manufacturer of all aluminum with prices in the 10-12k range. Don't know there name. Trailers smaller than 24' are really tight when you add anything more than a small car.

I still have Karlooz's 04' Chevy 2500 HD Duramax that I bought 2 months ago along with this race car & trailer(both sold). I love this truck and it's become my DD over my S-class or F350 cc dually. I do need to sell it though so if anyone's looking for a great tow vehicle PM me....

a trailer HAS TO BE at least 7' tall. if you can chill inside the trailer what's the point of getting enclosed trailer? just get an open one. if you want to sit and bench race in side, you need 7' min. or you will become a midget.
i bought MANY trailers. i used to want the smallest lightest i can get away with. after throwing way hell lot of money, my advice is to buy the BIGGEST baddest trailer you can afford. spend the money on the trailer not the race car. i mean it.
