You should post this in the 993 area or PM Bill Verburg as he has a wealth of knowledge about these cars.

I always defer to Joel Reiser (Rochester NY). As far as I am concerned he is as good as it gets. He's a rl member as well as the PCA national tech.

If I was doing research and did not want to start talking about money yet, Bill is a very good resource - as well as plenty of others on this site. If I was ready to talk bucks, Joel, Steve Weiner and a few others come to mind. That said, I would still move this to the 993 area.

Hey Steve,

Really just looking for a good reference to understand what really made them different from an RS of the same period. HP, weight etc. Very interested in understanding how RSR ride heights were achieved without a huge sacrafice in the geometry.

I have the three bok set "The Porsche Book..the complete history of types and models" , but it only covers the 964 RSR.

Best
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

RSR's were highly modified versions of the production cars with many unique parts.

If you can find a copy of John Starkey's, "R-to-RSR" book, I think you would enjoy reading that. Its long out of print and copies are no longer inexpensive, but its really a worthwhile addition to a Porschephile's library as its a definitive work about the race cars.

I have a copy, however you would have to visit me to read it,...

Call me sometime (late afternoons are best) and I can tell you about some of the details on these cars.
