RSR 4.0 is much di$$erent, maybe they need a 4.2 now and certainly a bigger restrictor.

Not from Germany as far as I know but PMNA will make your engine into a 4.0 Grand-Am spec.

Hmmm...bet they're using street 4.0RS crank/rods/pistons with grand am/world challenge spec cams, etc. Probably good for an honest 500+ hp at the flywheel.

Correct. Midwest Eurosport built a 4.0 for a GT3R (like yours) last year, using an RSR crank. About 500+ HP.

I wish people would quit griping about this. There is plenty of opportunity to watch ALL 12 HOURS with limited commercial interruption, even live. It's all available currently online, and will be for months after the fact. (If you can't be bothered to look for it, here is the link http://americanlemans.com/video/sebr...oadcast-part-1).

Enjoy the video, and tell all your friends.

(BTW, 2011 Sebring broke all previous IMSA viewing records using two servers worth of data transfer in the process. The viewing numbers aren't calculated yet, but I've heard they used 5 servers worth of data transfer in 2012.)

I was at the race, and I am going to sit down and watch some of it tonight. I hope to have it finished by the weekend.

Yes - I remember when they ran that V8 M3 a few years ago and won the championship ... even though there wasn't a production M3 with a V8 for a couple years after that ...

Agree. The problem with SpeedTV and LeMans is that they will cut away from the race for Nasacar truck qualifying after the first 3 hours :-(

The street RS 4.0 uses the RSR crank and a bunch of PMNA bits already.

Thats why the RS 4.o is a bore & stroked true 4.0

Yes, was mostly thinking about pistons and rods. The RSR sprint pistons are very short life. So I would guess for Grand Am they are using the street rods and pistons rather than the RSR pieces....

They are in need of more grunt to get down the Mulsanne straight with the increased frontal area of this years car. Afraid it's going to a long season without BoP help.

Thought I read the new corvette gt car was the same chassis as the zr1? The old GT1 car was tube frame car made by Pratt and Miller?

And what do you think the lizards do to the rsr? They get one from Porsche, then strip the whole car down and rebuild it from the ground up using all kinds of little tricks. Sure, it starts from porsche as more of a race car than the zr1 but it is equally "hand built."

The fastest car in alms is all a function of the rules. Porsche has dominated alms for many years...

Actually from what I've heard, Porsche doesn't allow tampering with the cars if they get factory support. So much so that some teams stopped racing them. I think that was the reason for Tafel racing switching toFerrari before they went under.
