Default Last minute "oh crap" oops

Bought Jongbloed 15s and am getting car ready for RA in 2 weeks. I was warned by fellow D/E cars that I need longer lugs. Wheels won't be here 'til Thursday, and I have to order them tomorrow to make sure they get here by the weekend so I can install them.

PLEASE, if you have Jongbloeds and know what length studs they require, please post. I really do need to order them tomorrow.

This request is for a 911SC running in D-class.

IIRC my Jongbloeds (18s on my 964) are about 5mm thicker at the wheel center than my Fikses.

Not much of an answer, but perhaps a bit of help.

Yea, but they don't let me do high math anymore. I just herd cats. Lots of cats and lots of work. So much so that I forgot my nuts...er...lugs.

The 66mm studs will give you plenty of extra length. I think the 52mm studs would cut it very close. Order from Pelican and they'll get to you in a few days.

Be warned, I just had these studs installed myself. My mechanic (who is very good), said installing the rear studs was a MONUMENTAL pain in the ***. Don't wait until the very last minute to do it. PM Chris M, he has done it too and can give you some tips.

Thanks. I replaced studs one-size longer 2 years ago. Should come out easier than the ones that had been in there 30 years. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes they should, but they are a little slow to return phone calls. I'll call them again and have an order placed tomorrow.

They are a real pita to install. Most of the time they are not really perpendicular to the hubs and end up taking a bunch of time to screw with them to get the wheels on.

You may be good then. How much extra thread do you currently have? Are you using spacers?

Don - Just measured - The studs Dan J. put on my car stick out from the hubs (front and rear) by 52mm of which the 1st 10mm is unthreaded. How long the stud itself (thickness of the stock hubs) is I can't say but hopefully you can pop one and correlate the measurement. They don't have to be quite that long but all I can say is these work..

Don, ill measure mine in the morning. I think they are 75mm. Leaves 10mm-ish. Good margin.
I bought a new set for the spare hubs a couple years ago. My have the receipt. I have a set of Jongbloed's also. I had my mechanic do the R&R. He has some type of jig to install them straight.

Thanks for all the guidance fellas. Sounds like something in the 65-75mm range will work. I'll get mine a little longer with bullit-ends. Jack, I have a set of 5 mm spacers that I used in NASA, but they aren't allowed in PCA stock, and I won't need them with the Jongbloeds.

Gary, let us know how that kick-back works. I'll be ordering a second set shortly.

You never said what your impression of the 1st set was, did I overstate them?
