According to the '12 class weight tables the 944 gives up 9hp AND 300lbs!
The 944S2 is EASILY the 2nd fastest car in E class behind the Euro SC. There are tons of 944S2s that are campaigned very successfully in PCA with several track records (the ones not held by Euro SCs).

OTOH, the 3.2 Carreras (915 or G50) have struggled and are relatively rare on the grid. They have been outclassed by the Euro SCs and S2s for a long long time.

The new 33 lb weight reduction for the 915 3.2 is not going to change that. The G50 has finally been allowed to race at the same weight as the 915 cars. Despite the published numbers, the G50 Carrera does not have a real hp advantage over the 915.

Hmmmm, I have Buckley in my area driving in E, if I built a 3.2 liter G50 that would be a good judge of how the cars compare. I think I will do it ! I've been leaning that way anyway. Get ready to see a 1988 911 tan Interior for sale. More to follow. Already have motor out and ready for a quick refreshening.

Based on what I am seeing the G50 3.2 liter really looks like the way to go. Glad I have my donor car ready to go.

Not at Sebring this year, where the third fastest E car all weekend was an 84 3.2 Carrera with a 915 gearbox. Same car was on the podium for every Summit Point Race last year as well.

hHAHAHAH hey hey now, we have done alot ot make my car stock, guy i bought it from sold it to me with a autothority chip in it and a rebuilt brain with missing solder points that had it shutting down in bumps.

as for 944s, the summit race was pretty much a 944 sp3, Dwayne and I in a SHWEEET battle. Watkins last year i was getting WALKED on up the esses/back straight by E class 944s regarldess if i had a better run out of t1 or not..yet other tracks its been the opposite

but the 3.0 euro is pretty much the way to go, mainly because of the revs, that helps a ton with gearing for corners, slower corners they are down a little torque but a good driver can overcome that with corner speed

Technically track record at summit for e is held by dwyane in his 3.0, my 3.2 is a tenth off it......ive seen dyno's from a 3.0 with 225 to the wheels...tq is a little down but not by much.

this year i didnt even take out the 33 lbs, i think im running the car EMPTy with me in it at 2826 or 2836 and could go down to 2779.... i think most of it is driver not 30-40 lbs....Buckley and Hupfer where 2-3 seconds up on me at sebring this year (my first time and belive me i can go faster if i grew a set and stopped freaking braking)...hopefully ill have something for them at later races but who knows. rest of the field was 1-2 behind me...good old no mans land

Been happy with my 915, i know scott b. who got out of e lately had a G50 that was freaking fast but he also drove the crap outta it.

There are some rule changes to come for E....dont ask how i know but Im sorry/your welcome haha... but its not going to really cause much of a change i hope more of just a clarification of the rules.

oh and there were something like 27 e cars in the Sebring sprints...freaking SHWEET.

for the 3.0 tuning is thru fuel...with a US spec motor converted over i believe frank does not have the correct fuel pressure going in but with the correct part he should see some more power...i could be wrong but thats more correct parts vs tuning.
only tuning you can do is with exhausts as far as i know...i got some extra HP taking off the mufflers i had on it... ive heard buckley has put down some good numbers with the 3.0 headers on a 3.2 etc
but i just drive the thing so there very well could be other legal ways to do so. i just have no idea if or what they are....

besides the nitrous bottle i mean fire extinguisher.
