Default FS-Set of Yokohama ENV-R2(Patron Cup) Tires $SOLD

Plus $75 shipping via Greyhound. Very fresh from one of the top teams. The wear indicators are 3.5/32nds and very evenly worn. The fronts are 240/640-18's, the rears are 280/680-18's. 3-4 Heat cycles. I am in NorCal and can drop them off if you are nearby. If you have any specific questions, feel free to call me at (925)354-1571. I have 2 additional Patron Cup fronts and 2 non Patron Cup rears(same size and condition but different compound) If you want to buy all 8, its $500 for the lot.
I can ship 8 tires via Greyhound freight for $175, you would need to pick them up at the bus station however.

Aren't race slick tires like these good for just a few heat cycles then they fall off? These tires during a race start to fall off towards the end.

Mike there's a black science with respect to the feeding and caring for race slicks. There life span and efficency is very dependent upon how they were run in those first few cycles. Regardless for practice tires many are willing to pay $400. per set used since they were $2,200. new.

BTW, Trackside Performance is now selling the 2010/2011 Patron sets for $1,800....

As a reference point, what's your personal experience on how many seconds slower the Patron Cup tires are at a specific track comparing new vs. heat cycled, as well as the progressive degradation as the heat cycles increase(new vs. 1,3,5,8 heat cycles?) I realize that that are many variables but it is very worthwhile to read what you have experienced under your set of circumstances.

In the 996 car in my avatar I've had some of my fastest laps in the 3rd or 4th cycle but that car is down 200lbs. to a cup and also down over 100-150 rwhp. After the 4th cycle (2 qual,2 sprint races) I use them for practice and they're off 20-25% but seem to stay consistent for the next 6-8 HC's. I cycle them out before I ever cord them but that's on a 2600lb car w/driver. Cup cars eat them up sooner due to the weight, WHP, and larger wing on the 2010's & 11's. A 1hr. 45 min ALMS stint can do them in....

Thanks for the feedback, I value your comments highly and I am sure I speak for many others as well. You count as 1 cycle two qual, two sprint races? When you say they are off 20-25%, how many seconds is that at BW, WS or one of the tracks that you race. Thanks again.

I count each qual and each race as a cycle even though I only do 1 or 2 laps in qual (hopefully). So the tires hardly get up to temp in qual but still, the chemicals are mxining it up inside...

I'd say at BW or WS older slicks with 4-10 HC's are 1-2 seconds off what I can do with stickers. Probably some of that is physiological as I push more with stickers....
