Thanks Doug, this is what I was looking for.....

"The minimum weight for all 3.2
911 Carreras is changed to 2779
pounds, and they may use any
ECU/DME and any ECU chip
native to US 3.2s during model
years 1984 through 1989."

Wow no race posted for NJMP or Summit Point. I hope that it is an oversight.

Don't worry Frank, the Euro SC will still reign supreme. The 915 Carrera is only getting a 33 lb reduction... I highly doubt that's enough to shake things up in E class.

The G50 Carrera is the real winner with a much needed 127 lb reduction (all Carreras even now).

Thanks PCA!! This and the new points system have me really excited for 2012!!

I take "native" to mean any STOCK ECU/DME chip, so you would still need to swap yours out. Is Dan going to get your car this winter? Be great to have you in our run sessions... especially if I build an E motor...

I will take it to Dan's for the E class transformation before the next season.......
It would be great to have a bunch of Hairy Dog garage cars race together in E, so what are you waiting for?

I think it's a great move to make one spec for the stock 3.2 911 Carreras. It's good to see the club looking to help people out even if it makes the rules a bit messy (but still easy to enforce).

Does a Euro SC engine require new pistons and cylinders or can it be acheived with compression? Cams? ECU?

It's just the pistons AFAIK but I most likely would get a new matched set of P/C's; no way to get 9.x:1 using the stock 8.5:1 pistons is there?. I think it is JE that custom cuts the pistons to match the Euro profile and compression ratio but have to confirm that with Dan. I believe the Cam is the same but honestly don't know that either... Most likely I will start the year in D and see how my engine holds out.

Evan - you really stepped up this year, sorry I couldn't run with you at Summit but as D usually runs with E look for us next year! Start at Limerock!!

Actually there are a few other changes that need to be made to be fully compliant as a 81-83 Euro SC

Euro Fuel distributor
Euro Warm up Regulator
Metal Fuel lines from fuel distributor to injectors
Euro ignition Distributor
Euro Rev limiting rotor
Big port heads
Big port "R" intake runners

Transmission has different 2nd vs 78-79 USA SC trans and different 5th gear vs. all USA trans.

I guess it just depends on where you finish on how correct your car really needs to be.

BTW Rothsport makes after market 9.8/1 pistons for 911 SPEC with the proper CIS piston dome.
