End of season, same comparison, R6 v. R1

For further clarity, throw in the old R1 compound vs new R1 compound variable. Last time I checked, most of the major sources still had old compound inventory they were trying to get rid of.
New compound has similar max grip as old but is much more forgiving at the limit.

Slightly off OP but I am a big fan of the Hankook Z214's after using them at VIR for 3 days last weekend. Doesn't come in the 996/997 sizes though. WIll need to see next season how much longer they last and if the performance drops off but I have been frustrated with the R6s since they are so alignment sensitive (wear issues - can't seem to get a set to wear evenly). Love the Nitto NT-01 for DE...they last 4ever and are grippy to the end. I have a set that is worn down to slicks but still going strong after...get this...52 heat cycles!! (this was my go to setup for DE this year - the set lasted me the full season. Plus the wear is absolutely even front to back and side to side)

Z214's are fantastic tires. By far my favorite DOT slick.
