Default Had some fun with Hill Country PCA at TWS this weekend

Every once in a while, in my old age, I remember to turn on my camera. This time it was chasing a 997.2 GT3 and a 993 RSR. First time in 3+ years back on RA1's instead of my usual Hankooks, so there is a bit more car "movement"!

Fun times with a great group & absolutely perfect weather!!

Damn Dave, that is a bumpy track! It really displays well how late the lead car is turning in and losing speed to you in the turns. The P-car is noticeably a bit out of balance.

Bob, it has gotten significantly bumpier in the last ~18 months due to our record setting drought down here.

Oh, by the way: it is for sale too. Again.

Didn't make it this weekend -- I'm jealous.

Thanks for the video!

Awesome driving. I'm PCA blue -- most of it looked like the "party line". Due to traffic, you took several lines through 10, I liked the really tight line, set up 11 nicely.

Love your 5-6 line. Hard to tell for sure looks like no braking and a relatively smooth continuous radius.

Seems they teach us more of a figure 7 sort of turn where you don't dive in quite so much on 5 but
drift out on 6 and its a more abrupt turn in. Seems to unsettle the car on turn into 6 that
if you don't "time it right" can get you in trouble.

That was with my 924S, next time out should be with my RSR -- a whole lot of learning to do there.

What a great weekend! Weather was perfect. A bit cold in the mornings but awesome in the afternoon. Tons of great cars out there (including that beautiful GT2RS).

I was also chasing down high powered Porsches in my BMW (in blue). Always feels great to get the pass from a GT3 I found mglobe out there but missed you. Next time. I've got the bug bad these days so i'll be signing up for December 3-4

Good driving there!

Yeah, that double apex line in 10 rreally works in a lot of cars, and yes it sets 11 up very well. The 5-6 line is something one or two of the AI's like me will begin to show you when you get into Yellow and White. i use a tiny bit of left foot braking there to help the car with the rotation. This make it one arc, rather than breaking it into 2 separate turns like the party line. MUCH faster my way.

Another reason why Lone Star (&Hill Country) PCA rock!

Best instructors, best events, best people!

Second that. Great place to learn. Especially for a Green. This was my first DE and i loved it. Did a couple of track events at H2R without instruction earlier and what a difference a proper DE event with the right instructors makes.

Addind a video of myself in my Spyder with my instructor. Its easy to spot the contrast between a green and an White or Red(dont know what group Dave was running in his video).

Not bad for your first time, dude!!! I remember your beautiful Spyder, you had Mark Crawford as your instructor, right?

I was in Red, I am an advance instructor for Lone Star, Hill Country, and Maverick PCA.

Did the RSR have a red rear wing? If so, I think it's my old car...
