Tow with a Lexus GX460?

OP, did you end up towing with a GX460? My wife loves Lexus and has a '12 RX350. I traded my awesome '08 Yukon Denali for a '12 CTS-V and now I'm tracking a lot more and need a tow rig. I'm thinking about talking my wife into trading into a GX460, so I can borrow it for track weekends.
Any input on the GX as a tow vehicle would be appreciated. I'd be using a 1550lb Aluma 20' tilt trailer and a 3,250lb ZR1, so figure around 5k lbs which is easily within the 6500lb rated limit.

Thank you for your quick response! Great shop you have there as its hard to beat a set-up like that. Arrive and drive!

I tow with a 2008 BMW X5 4.8. Pulling a 1500-lb. Featherlite 17' open trailer with my '03 Carrera 4S. The Bimmer's a champ. Haven't taken it over the mountains and don't plan to, but it's everything I need.

Bumping this to the top after 7 years! I find myself in the same situation with wife test driving a lot of different SUVs and likes the Lexus GX460. I'll be using it occasionally to tow open aluminum trailer with car and tire rack. Anyone else with experience with this set up or the GX in general?

I responded to the person who started this thread, I towed an enclosed Trailex with a 2004 GX470 for a few years. Never had an issue but be aware the braking is a bit weaker, hill climbing a bit slower and you'll be surprised how fast a full tank goes when avergaing 12 miles to the gallon. Lot's of fuelstops for the longer hauls. Engine temps were perfect. The GX470 is really a truck like chassis with some soft features.

Just wanted to share some experience, I use my 2012 GX460 to tow my 2800 lbs S2000 on a 2200 lbs Uhaul trailer, I've done it a couple times last summer; turns out to be much better than I expected, very stable on the highway and comfortable from home to the track.

I towed my ~3000lb 98 M3 on a ~1400lb featherlite trailer with my 08 GX470 once. That was enough. While it did it, I wouldn't say it did it all that comfortably, especially when comparing it to the 06 Cayenne Turbo S that I used to tow the same combo before. The GX was slow and not confidence inspiring in handling or braking and that's with a trailer brake controller and trailer brakes...
