DirecTV to drop Speed TV on November 1st?
According to a banner on Speed's website, DirecTV is planning to drop the channel in two days, on 11/1/11. Anyone have any inside info on this?
I remember a couple years ago when Versus had the same beef with DirecTV, and it got settled at the last minute (or after that?). Hopefully this too will get settled, because I just renewed on another 2 year commitment with DirecTV.

Every major cable provider has gone through this battle with Fox when their contract has come up for renewal in recent years. It's Fox running those banners to try to mess with DirectTV. If it goes down like it has with other providers we may lose our Fox stations for a week or two. Then they'll sign an agreement and we'll get them back. It's like an NBA lockout.
Personally I will stay for DirectTV unless I hear something to suggest it's permanent. Comcast and Dish both suck in my opinion. I'm not going to go get locked into a contract with one of those bastards just because I miss an episode or two of Sons of Anarachy and an F1 race.
