Default Rennsport Reunion In Car, Club Race Spec 911 Winner

Race starts @ 9:45 since my edit of the grid/pace lap didn't work.

Friend bought this chassis from me about 7 years ago, and has extensively campaigned it in Spec 911 and ITE.

Got rear view too, but the file corrupted. If anyone can help with recovering that .mov format file it would be greatly appreciated as there were cars glued to his rear bumper the whole race.

That thing has Air Jacks! I would love to ad those to my car.

Nice driving too.

When I first saw the comment I wondered how you knew. Then I clicked on the notification link to come over into the forum, and duh.

Air jacks came from one of the first 996 Cups that came over here in '99 or '00. It was tragically lost when the owner graciously let Thunderhill CEO Dave Vodden sample the car. Stuffed into the T12 wall, and declared a total loss. But those air jacks were salvaged! Dave Taylor, a Kiwi working locally for TRG and SCARGO built the car. Dave's left us several years ago to return to NZ, and I hear he's still involved with Porsches there.

I'll have more video this weekend as it's the 10th Anniversary of PRC racing at Sears Point.

Thanks for posting Ken. I can just see my car... down on compression and lost a cylinder after a few laps.

I still have pictures of the Cup wreck... the late Dan's old car. A part of it and him live on in Behram's 911.

Please come on out this weekend... bring your wife and join us for the catered dinner.

Fun to watch your video. Nice consistent lines. I watched the race from the Red Bull energy center while my wife read a book. I would've liked to have been in that one. Interesting the different styles of driving you "encountered" during the race.

If I only had a wing/ducktail I was soooooo close.

Video from my camera of the same 911 spec car above- good clean driving. My old vintage Musket held it own.

MY video camera and one of my old chassis, but definitely not ME driving. Neutered (post 1984) Laguna is a great racing track, but mediocre for DE/lapping. Even worse than the layout is dealing with track management/sound for anything but these unrestricted weekends.

Example: max 25 cars per run group. Why? Safety. Oh, but you CAN pay more to waive that. Pre-event trailer access? Likely your own storage yard. Sound? I suppose anyone could have bought the Rennsport weekend. If there's anymore ***** of a track out there, let me know.

Glad you posted it here. Still haven't been able to get any help to uncorrupt the rear camera.

I think small wings are overrated. I ran my full weight '73S in stock configuration 10+ years ago against all the spoilered cars. Was within a fraction of the time trial track records. And the car had under 100psi in one cylinder at the end.

More sawing going on in that video than a lumber mill.

I know. Haha. That's what makes these early cars fun to drive.

And exhausting. Glad I enjoyed them in my youth, but oh-so happy to have found my personal financial/fun sweet spot with the last of the air cooleds.

(I'd love to unload the zero rust RS flared '73 tub, but $1.99 ain't gonna take it.)

great video, Chad. But I really started to enjoy it more at the 28 minute mark.
Next time I come out there, hopefully you will have your wing set up and I will know the track. We'll chase each other to a 1:38.
