- Philly has great sports teams, abundant parks and outdoor activities (crazy cycling and rowing culture)
- much more livable and affordable alternative to NYC (I live in the woods, and commute into Philly ever day in less than 30 min)
- short day trips to NYC, Baltimore, DC, Jersey shore, delaware beaches, chesepeake, poconos, hershey park, lancaster county
- less than 1 hr drive to NJMP, 2 hrs to Pocono, 3 hrs to Summt point, 4 hours to WGI
- hard to beat the location; now the weather on the other hand leaves a bit to be desired.

Columbus Ohio's not a bad place to call home as long as you can deal with winters. Nice city, very reasonable cost of living.
Mid Ohio is 45 min from my front door
Bluegrass < 2 hours - not that any of us will ever drive it
Putnam 3 hours
Nelson Ledges 3 hours (if that's not a selling point I don't know what is
)
Beaver Run 3.5 hours
Glen 5.5 hours
Autobahn 6.5 hours
VIR 7.5 hours
Road America 8 hours
Road Atlanta 8.5 hours
..but in all honesty my wife and I have been heavily considering ATL, interviewing down some as a matter of fact. If I can find a job she can probably work her current job from there and we'd go in a minute. I've lived in Ohio all my life and I'm getting sick of the winters. Not that they're horrible I just don't enjoy them

Hey yo, Come to the "soprano state".
High taxes, high insurance, corupt goverment (except for Christie), more lawyers than you can shake a stick at ,and the home of" Snookie" and the rest of the deadbeats from "Jersey Shore".
On the positive side, wait give me a few minutes, I'm thinking.
All kidding aside, Jersey is pretty nice place to live as long as you travel or live west of Newark/Patterson. ..and besides in about five years we may have the next President.
Maybe you could re-apply for that old job you use to have.![hiha](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/roflmao.gif)

I've been in NJ for awhile now, and twice a week I ride my bicycle over the Hudson River and into Central Park to get to work, a positively majestic ride, to arrive in the greatest city in the world. The other days, I sit in a bit of traffic to do the same, but at least when I get there I'm SOMEwhere. I love these guys who brag about their 15 minute commute, without realizing that they're still NOwhere.
And did I mention:
Monticello: 1 hr
Lime Rock: 2 hrs
Pocono: 2 hrs
NJMP: 2.5 hrs (two distinct road courses)
Watkins Glen: 4.5 hrs
Summit Point: 4.5 hrs
Laguna Seca: 5 hrs (we also have three major airports)

When I tried to find a place that I thought would be somewhat "central" to the tracks that I like, I came up with Harrisburg, PA. I think it's within 4 hours of the Glen, Mid-Ohio, VIR, Summit Point, Lime Rock, and probably a few more. The only downside is that you would be living in Harrisburg.

Not that anyone has ever driven 5 hours to run at NHMS.

Loudon-5- 6hrs
Nelson Ledges-7hrs
Beaver Run-6hrs
Mosport- 8-10hrs
Mid-Ohio-8-10hrs
and the new(to be built) Alpine track in the Allentown, PA area.Pobably 45minutes (for me)
Bridgehampton- Opps! Not anymore. But it was about 2-3hrs.
VIR-8- 10 hrs.
St. Jovie (Mont Tremplant) 10 hrs.(+/-) I was there once so my memory of the driving time may be a bit off.
So you can see with all these tracks within 10 hours, NJ is a pretty ideal place geographically if you are into track related activities.

Yeah, what's up at Alpine? I got a message yesterday that it's funded and it's a go.
Also got this Liberty Bell thing brewing.
Currently, my tow limit is around 5 hours, but these two will lower that even more!

Years ago when Andretti ,the ex PA governor (whoever) et el were involved I sent them some money for a membership. After it intiialy went belly up they actually returned my money rather than disappear with it. I was grateful and impressed.
Different players now so lets hope it goes forward as planned.
Now that we have NJMP and even perhaps Liberty I don't have quite the urge to join anything. Plenty of tracks these days to do just about anything on any given weekend.
Do I dare say perhaps too many. I don't know how big the pie is and how many ways you can slice it up before someone is left standing after the music stops .
