I got my replacement video card last week and finished reassembling my computer last night. Everything seems to be working again and actually has better frame rates than I remember. I still have to fine tune the settings and get all my stuff sorted out, but I think I'll be back in business shortly.

Pedal recommendations? Got off my butt and sold my first wheel with my existing pedals. Thinking right now about the ClubSport Pedals V3 as I did have the was an older version of the CSL Elite Pedals.

Killer pedals and worth the money. Trust me on that.

Hello all,
I'm thinking about signing up for iRacing to get access to the forums prior to a PC and rig build. I hope to be up and running in about a month. Would someone like credit for referring me?
If so PM me the email you use with iRacing, or post it here. I will try to use the first email I get.
Best,
Greg

Tonight probably won't work for me, and my buddy Iain is travelling... We'll make it work sooner or later!

I'll try to make it tonight. Haven't been able to race for a while and we're renovating our basement in a couple weeks, so I'll be out again for a while.
What time zone Sean?

Was able to join for a short period.... seems lately, every time I turn the rig on, I get buried doing updates and windows defender scans.
When that happens, I get frequent screen/sim freezes of varying durations (sometimes 1/2 a second, sometimes, like last night, 3+ seconds long).
Watching the CPU stats, the "pagefile" is pegged red. I popped out of the service and saw over 25% CPU on my OC'd 6700k dedicated to the default windows "anti malware" process.
Spent the next hour and a half messing with registry edits (and registry key owners, and permissioning) to finally disable the damned "Windows Defender" service. This machine ONLY serves to be a sim rig, so it doesn't get used otherwise... so F it I'll go naked.
I set the windows update to be the minimum (notify before downloading and installing) but I have a feeling a lot of the performance hit is because of the *scanning* to determine if updates are needed.
Grrrrr. I like Windows in general less and less as time passes. This is my last remaining Windows box in the house.
