I drove it a tiny bit but spent more time in the new Ford GT. I found the Ford GT pretty easy to drive and forgiving. Though I haven't really paid attention to what competitive lap times are, for it, either.
The LMP car with the default LeMans setup feels great, until you realize that the 3:36.5 flyer you can throw down with it is a solid 3 seconds off the pace of the faster non-aliens.

OK, I hate to say this in the P Car forums but holy cr*p has anyone tried the new Ferrari? That 488 is hands down the best platform on iRacing imho. Funny thing is when I drove the car in real life it felt that good too... Was running it at VIR last night, what a blast!
So it's now do I race the 458 with the Fords and seeing those races being packed with those cars in IMSA and give it a season for people to go to the next shinny thing or do I race the R8 or Mercedes in IMSA.

I can re-do Zolder I suppose?
@Ascetic - the actual "race" starts closer to 8:30 central, which should be 6:30 your time....
We do 1:20 of practice and :15 of qualifying.

Ok - rebooked Zolder. Ascetic - are you a league member already? If not, PM me your iRacing name and I'll add you.
The practice actually starts at 7:15p CDT so that means actual race starts at 8:50p CDT or 6:50 PDT.

Im pretty excited, my friend is assembling my pc now, I have my seat, and my fanatec pedals/wheel/shifter is hopefully being shipped this week.
I have a lot to learn, so what does everyone recomend for iracing to start with as a complete total newbie for any racing type game.
If it means anything, I race a 924S/944 and I have raced on Limerock, Loudon, NJMP thundebolt, Thompson, and Stafford. I want to use this simulator to practice and learn new tracks.
Thanks
Pete

LimeRock and NJMP are both available in iRacing. Loudon.... maybe? Is it known by another name?
Personally I'd recommend you follow the 'ladder' in the sim. Start with the rookie series (Miatas I think still) then move into the Skip Barber.
The Skip Barber is supposed to be a 'trainer' and thus is a little tricky to drive... but will reinforce good habits.
