Drifting
I'll do an assessment and try to see which will play out best for me. My basic assumptions are:
1. I'm faster when chasing and not driving my mirrors.
2. 2 cars battling are slower than 2 cars cooperating.
If I'm catching a car for a competitive pass and being caught by a car on a different lap, I'd try to let them by in the most efficient way possible. I'll drive better in the draft of the faster car and catch my competitor more quickly. There will then be an opportunity to make a move when the other guys have to sort themselves out or start battling.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. I didnt want to take the pass as I was afraid it would slow you down from catching Allen and Vanasse. I then resorted to staying behind you to try and bump draft down the back straight in hopes to catch the guys up front. It was great fun! Had a head of steam coming out of one of the turns so I decided to go for the pass to not risk hitting you or jabbing the brakes causing me to spin mid turn. Fun stuff

How does that work?? You need a lot of people I guess, I can't imagine driving more than 2 hours straight, I'd be totally beat! You swap after your turn? You come in the pits and the other driver jumps in ? Is there a limit to the number of pit stop you can do and number of drivers?

I would envision 6 drivers, 4 hours each (two ~2-hour stints a piece). You pull into the pits at the end of your stint and there is a "get out" button (or something similar). The next driver sits at the config/replay screen, and when the previous driver gets out, the next driver sees a "get in the car" button... and off he goes.
How long will the RUF go on a full tank? Will it make it 2 hours? I forgot - the 2.4 usually has 2 pit stops in the DP IIRC. I'm pretty sure the Mustang did it in one stop, but it's been a few years.
I think the big challenge (after finding enough people who are capable of running almost 4 hours each incident free) would be a setup that would both (a) work for everyone and (b) last.
I've been working on a set that feels really good... but did a GT3 series race this weekend (~30 minutes) and the rear tires were TOAST. No way it would last 2 hours without putting it into the wall. I'll need a lot of setup work to come up with something that will be easy to drive and consistent over a 2 hour period.
Still... I LOVE endurance racing. We do 2:45 stints in my Lemons car and LOVE IT. If the team can get the car through the first ~5-6 laps incident free, then we just gotta burn down the laps to the finish.
