The biggest wart (the cockpit shape) is improved.

I was expecting a NASCAR type body on frame car with some looking like Chevrolets, others like Fords and Porsches. I doubt Porsche is any more interested in DP now than before. They called them ugly and never made an effort in the series, except advertising their cars as grocery getters and hardware store capable.

Teah the cockpit wart isn't all that great looking but this race series is exciting to watch. I'm a Rolex Grand Am fan.

It's smoother looking than the current cars, but it still looks very plain. Prototypes are supposed to be wilder and more high tech looking than GTs, and with the Ferrari 458 joining GrandAM next year they are going to have to do a lot better than this if they want to create excitement about the class...
