My 10 year old Snap On's batteries have finally given up the ghost. OEM replacements reguire an adapter and are ridiculously expensive so I sent one off to a online rebuilder for $50. It's been 6+ months now and the battery works great going all weekend without a charge. Don't know that I would buy another Snap On as there are so many equal alternatives now available, but I've certainly got my monies worth out of this tool....

I have had a Kobalt 20 v for the last year. Not much history as yet. Comes with 2 batteries. I have never had to go to the back up yet.

This one?

I have most of the other tools for this set (and 6 batteries). I've never seen that one in the store.

....and I just ordered a replacement battery for my Craftsman impact yesterday for $60, would have rather bought the Ryobi.

We use the Milwaukee 3/4" 18v impact. It will break free the centerlock nuts, 350ftlbs, and last through several changes. A little more pricey than the others but worth it given the life. You can buy Certified Pre Owned ones through the CPO Milwaukee site.

I have the 18V Dewalt and never had any trouble. 1 charge is usually good for 2 weekends on all four of mine and my buddies cars. Haven't had to go to the backup battery yet.

I'm using the Makita high torque model this season and really like it.

I have a Dewalt 20V 1/2" that I am very happy with. I was able to remove a very stubborn rear lower strut bolt that was torqued to well above it's 150 ft/lbs specification.

Northern Tool has a special $100 off (free shipping) on the 18v Milwaukee 2652-22 1/2" impact wrench (2 lithium ion batteries) for $229 (however, only 180 ft-lbs torque)
