Default Fernando P takes first in second IMSA gt3 race at Road America

FP is now in second in the standings with four races left.

And he isn't even being coached by VR (who wasn't available so FP hired his second choice Patrick Long).......

LOL! Touche'. Fernando had told me back in May that he had hired Patrick. You can't do any better than that! And the results speak for themselves..

Thank you both. I know it is a bit of an stereotype but I am learning that the final result of a race is the result of many people's performance over the course of many days, not just the driver.

Yes, we are doing good. Yes we are always improving and always gaining speed. And that is not only because I am learning the car, but also because Mike Courtney in Minneapolis is absolutely perfect and spot on (the same fellow who has given me a magic 996 Cup to drive for the past 2 years), and the Autometrics gang who runs like a swiss watch when we are at the track.

This past weekend has been a combination of us not making mistakes and the others having horrendous luck, the same type of luck we have experienced in the past.... At this point I am just enjoying the ride and having a blast!!!!

Dave, will you be available for next year?

LOL...I know you're pulling my leg, Fernando, but thanks anyway! Of course I am!

Seriously, though, good on you. You've always been fast, it si nice to see you smoothly ascend that next level.

We need to define "smoothly"... maybe if you see the car after a race you will change your mind.... or watch the highlights coming up during the ALMS race in ABC. Fast? maybe.... Smooth driving? not so much.... LOL!!!

What I meant was that you have moved up your skills in a way that does not appear to have a lot of fits & starts, but rather looks like a smooth graph upwards. Very professional in appearance IMO.

You have nothing to complain my friend. I did my best to shake you off in Race 1 without success. Hopefully you are done with bad luck and it will go only up from here...
