I hope this unit does well, seems like the best bang for buck data system out right now from a reputable company.

For those of you who have already used the Solo, is it possible/easy to scroll back through
and take a look at lap times for the previous session/race?
Thanks,
CB

Page 30 of the user manual does show how to recall the data ar the track, without a computer. Hope this helps.

No data acquisition software I am aware of works natively under Mac OS X.

I have no issues using the AIM Race Studio 2 and GpS Manager software with my Solo using Parallels Desktop 6 on my Mac.

I am all Mac at home as well. I use VMWare with the Racepak software...always worked great.

Mike I run a Mac all the time and on all 3 of my MBP I run either bootcamp or parallels to access any data software out there. No issues so far. I prefer to run bootcamp for the simple fact I have less issues with it since the computer runs the OS as an actual system instead of a Virtual system. All the drivers and such work flawlessly under bootcamp.

Mac here and never have problems with any of the software I've tried. AIM, Traqmate, RLC, RT, Racepack, etc.

So, Solo DL + Smarty Cam, or Video Vbox Lite???
I'm looking at the Racelogic Video Vbox Lite as well. Looks interesting especially if RPM, throttle position etc. can also be logged.

Vbox Lite is very nice and comes with two cameras. Unfortunately, you have to get some extra cables for CAN bus, and the OLED in-car display is extra

I got lucky and bought Early_Grace's Traqmate for a good price (considering the price of getting stuff in to Canada)

Update: For those that have this unit, the user manual has an error on pg 27. Managing the tracks is done with the GPS manager not the Race Studio software. Both are free downloads from http://www.aim-sportline.com/pages/d...n_software.php

Hey Jerry - since I have a Smarty Cam, what display unit would I have to buy to be able to see the laps times while I'm driving?

Hi Lou

The SOLO would give you laps, but would not be connected to the Smarty Cam. The future (soon to be available) SOLO DL will connect to the camera, but without a CAN signal, I don't think it will give you more than the current SOLO.
