Default Thanks UCR Mosport Club Race

Just wanted to give a shoot out to all the UCR members for a great weekend of racing. And a special tks to the flaggers, some of the best in the racing world. We had some big deltas in speed in the Yellow race group and you guys were the best in keeping everybody aware.

Thanks to all the volunteers, we all had a blast.

I agree Wayne, everyone involved was excellent - even the cleanup and emergency crews.

Default Yellow Sprints

Had a great time….won the first sprint from the pole, teammate Lee L. second and Lou B. third, we all ran together the first 7-8 laps and then I was able to pull away after Lee had a quick spin in 5B, he recovered quickly though and passed Lou on the last lap.

Second race was gridded by best times in the first sprint, Lee and Lou each had a 10th second faster lap then me so they both started in front of me, I started 3rd, got to first on the sixth lap and led the next 18 laps and Lee got by me on the next to last lap, he made a great pass on the outside of three, we went side by side all the way around and then we were side by side in 4, very fast downhill and I was out in the marbles so I had to lift and he went into 5A in front of me and I couldn’t recover to win but second was great to a team mate, beat me by a car length. Lou finished 3rd again.

Hairy Dog Garrrage and Dan J. and Jerry A. did another great job.

Rained for the enduro so I packed up.

Default Close Racing

Us "F"ers had some of the closest racing I've had in a long time, Lou, Lee and myself all lead at some point in both races, we really had a lot of fun.....we all even got a personnel "atta boy" from the chief steward Dave R. when he came by to congradulate all of us at our paddock

Yeah, a crazy start for the enduro. Warmup was in the dry, but then literally minutes before grid, it started raining. Most of us were on dry tires.

Ended badly with me hitting the concrete wall on the left side of the track between turns 2 and 3.

I also think Dave Rodenroth should get a shout out for doing an exceptional job of interacting with the racers during the weekend Usually when the steward is headed for your trailer it's trouble but this weekend it was for congrats etc. Great Job Dave!!

+1 on all of the above.
It was my first race (ever) and an amazing weekend. I'll share my experience with a post a bit later.... but thumbs up to the race organizers, flaggers and Dave Rodenroth... and of course SpeedMerchants for making it all happen!
