Hey Everyone,
My wife and I are planning a trip to the F1 race in Monaco with another couple. This has been on my bucket list forever. I wanted to reach out and see if anyone has done the trip. I would love some advise as to where to stay, where to get tickets, best way to get there, etc.. Any advise would be great.

Go to the F1 web site and they have numerous travel agencies that sell great packages for Monaco. I've been, and there are no reasonable priced hotels, restaurants, or clubs. Everything is super expensive (relative to your life style). No matter, it is a life experience that you will not forget. Enjoy![evilgrin](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/evilgrin.gif)

AC Coupe who posts here has a lot of knowledge about Monaco during F1 week. PM him.

I'm sure you will have a lovely time, but take care who you are photographed with, it really is wall to wall spivs, money launderers, Russians, pirates, gansters, hookers, in fact Damon Runyon would feel right at home.

We stayed in Nice, it is an easy train ride into Monte Carlo. Phenomenal experience that you will not regret, but be prepared to shell out 8 euros for a pint of beer

Were you there this year? In 2010 when we attended the trains were shut down into Monte Carlo. We ended up taking a bus from Nice no problems but we had to do our own research and find the bus on our own.
Do youself a favor and buy good tickets. They're not cheap but we got general admission tickets for Sector Rocher and did not get there early enough to find a spot on the side of the hill with a view worth a darn. Even though we could not stay for the finish of the race I would have gladly paid for better seats had I know how bad the view was going to be up there.
None the less I was able to sneak down near the grid for the start of the race and it is something I'll never forget. I saw F1 in Indy but it was nothing like the atmosphere of Monaco.

Andy,
Windstar Cruises (Conde Nast #1 Small Cruise Line in 2011) every year has a Mediterranean cruise that includes an extended stay in Monaco for the race (2012 schedule TBA). No need for hotel or dinner reservations. Buy the race tickets separately and everything else is covered.

I was just there at the Fairmont Hotel last month (not for the race obviously), and that seems to be a great setup to watch them come down the hill. That's a slow speed corner, but if you got a city-view room (not ocean) you'd get a cool view from your balcony.
The stands down near the harbor seemed to see the most action this year.
I've never been to Monte Carlo for the race but that would be a blast.

If you want to stay in touch, a friend (Ferrari 312T2 owner, ex-Lauda + Regazzoni) organizes a trip annually. (Also to Montreal and Monza, probably Austin next year.) Great seats, the '10 email I still have mentioned Tribune T1, K1, and B (Thu/Sat/Sun). Sometimes he does the whole thing with the hotel/meals/Peter Windsor/access, other times he mentions someone can't go and there are extra tickets.

I was there in 2009, and like eljabour my trip was purchased as a package by my wife. Package included 3 day grand prix tickets and accomodations in Nice, and we puchased train tickets at the station each day. Went smoothly until the thieving bloody train cops tried to "fine" us for buying the wrong tickets, to which we told them to **** off.

Back when I ran a factory in Nice, I went every year.
Have sat in many of the corners. I enjoyed Casino corner the most. You had a private little area to relax in between races. Although they wouldn't let you sit on the grass!!
Train from Nice was okay but it was a long wait to get home.

I'm also looking to go to Monaco GP next year with the family. Looking to rent an appartment in Monaco or beausoleil. Does anyone have any recommendations ?
I went to 24 hrs of Le mans this year, which was awesome. Monaco is the other race that I have not been to yet that I have always wanted to attend
