Hell yeah! GO C.GOMEZ!

CG drove the Axis of Oversteer/Capital Partners Porsche GT3 Cup to his first podium finish this afternoon at Mosport.
CG was competing in the Porsche Gt3 Challenge Canada series. He had qualified second but was up against two drivers who could count Mosport as their home track, Winner Marco Cirone and second place Randy Oswald.
Earlier in the day, in the IMSA GT3 Challenge series, CG clawed his way from 13th on the grid to 6th in an event filled race.
Tomorrow, two more races, IMSA and Canada Cup. The axis car will grid P12 for the first and I believe P4 for the Canadian series.
Congratulations CG!

All of my favorite PCA types are crowding IMSA podiums left and right. Piera, Gomez, Collins...I can already see the emails requesting further discounts on rental seats!!

I feel like a fortune teller. Just about the time Carlos put the car on the podium I was sitting in a trailer in New Jersey telling Spencer *** that Carlos is way too modest and that it wouldn't be long before he was finishing that high up in the field. Didn't take long to come true. Good work Carlos.

Thank you all! Good to see you too Peter and congrats on your results!
It was really a great weekend with tons of highs and downs.
Amazing too that after four 45 minute races the car is almost unscathed (only lost a radiator from a "lost bullet" wheel weight and a bent exhaust). Thanks to the crew at TRG and Speedsport for a great cár and speedy repairs!
Mosport is the hairiest most challenging track to race this side of the Atlantic. On Test day i just couldnt believe how fast some corners were in a Cup Car and in the only session i drove i was way off pace.
put my head down into the telemetry with the help of our coach S Pumpelly. Had a good dinner, a good talk overnight with me, myself and I, and was ready for qualifying day.
Quali for the Canada challenge went well and I was less than a tenth from pole after 4 laps. Decided, as adviced by the team, to save tires for the race after 4 laps and since it was my team mate Randy Oswald on pole a front row start was good. The car felt great on he Michelins and it felt good to be back on pace at 1:23.8
Quali for IMSA GT3 didnt go as planned, and i was to eager to soon and flatspotted my front right braking into 5a on my first flying lap. Tried hard for 8 laps and couldnt get in to the 23s. The more i pushed the worst the car felt. Decided to quit to save the 3 good tires with a 24.4 that put me 13th!! On grid. My worst qualifying so far, and the balance on the Yokos wasnt good. Inteesting fact was that yokos were as fast as the Michelins in Quali but it took the top 10 drivers 10+ laps to get the best lap.
Will post the race reviews with somevideo later on the week.

Thanks John!
BTW, this is what makes Mosport so special. Other than the Nordschleife, I dont know of any old school track that remains basically identical to the old days:
