How much does an F1 car cost to make? Estimates are in the MILLIONS.
This dude got a three year old model for about the same money as a new Mustang. Talk about depreciation!
Anyway, the dude is turning it into a trackday car. How awesome is that?

I hope its not one of those cars that doesn't like being driven slowly - cold tyres and brakes, not going fast enough to make the aero work though the bends - a recipe for a miserable afternoon.
Something from the pre slick/aero era might be more fun.

He is bonkers! Would fit right in around here. I don't care that it is not a very good F1 car, it's still an F1 car. He has some huge hurdles to overcome, but seems to be getting along with it pretty quickly. Would be interesting to see it in person.

I think the coolest thing about that car, in my opinion, is that I actually got to see it run. I witnessed Rubens hurling it around the Indianapolis Grand Prix circuit in 2007!
If you step back and view it from the "outside", Formula 1 is such a weird sport.

I completely agree. I wouldn't even mind driving something like the god aweful slow front engined 1960 Scarabs built by Lance Reventlow (American Playboy Millionaire). That would be the ****!

Also, it's pretty misleading...What straight do F1 cars hit 257 miles per hour?

Here's the last of a three part video documenting Chris Harris' drive of Martin Brundle's Jaguar. Great insight into the realities of driving these cars.
If you are the least bit interested in a real inside look at what driving these cars entails, go watch the first two parts. FWIW, Chris Harris is a bloody good shoe. Aside from Carrera Cup and the VLN series, Porsche let him drive the RS Spyder at Weissach.
