Default Best place to source used Hoosiers?

I'm looking for a set of R6's, 275-40-17's. Can anyone recommend a place that sells take off's or the like?

Thanks!

You can also get them for free at the track. Check with the event tire vendor. They don't want them.

+1 on the track side vendors. I have to admit that I have purchased a couple of set from used dealers and pick up several free sets track side......but only the free ones have been worth the effort. The best ones for me have come off of the Caymen series cars.

John is a good guy and I have purchased from him.....tires were as described.

Good luck,

No tracks local to me have large enough events to draw tire vendors or racers getting rid of cast offs.

I'll call John and see how much he charges for a set...

johnbtires ??

Makes little sense to pay 75 percent the price of a new tire for a used tire 25 percent worn away.

Actually, they way I'm reading the prices, looks like one is paying less than 50% of a new tire for a tire that is 25% worn. Sounds like a good deal to me.

25% worn does not really mean much. I run 16's and have never corded a tire, part of the reason is because my car is so light. I usually heat cycle them out well before they are worn out. I would like to know heat cycles and tread depth before I buy a used tire.

Good point!
Based on that one could assume that the larger diameter tires (18" +) would be better bets in absence of Cycle info.

And DHI is correct.
