I'm thinking about trying something new for brake pads. I know the Pagid orange/front black/rear set-up is popular in the Boxster Spec crowd, but I wanted to see if any of you guys in the mid-engine platforms have any experience/feed back for the Performance Friction stuff. Specifically, which pads do you like front/rear.

I'm on my second set of PFC 06 F and R on my Cayman S and I'm sticking with them. I'm getting great pad wear and minimal rotor wear. Not as much bite as the Hawk HT-10 I used to use but I just push the pedal harder.

Just wondering why you used the combo of 01 front and 06 rear on the Boxster? Are there issues with the braking system of the Boxster to change the brake bias?

Kent,
Just tried the PFC06 this weekend. My Pagid Black RS14 fronts wore down and I had to do a spot replacement. I am pretty happy with the PFC06 compound on the Spec Boxster. Good initial bite, good release and stayed pretty consistent during a 40 minute sprint.
The bite is good but not as strong as the Pagid Black. My impression.

The 06 provides a nice balanced feel on the 986/987. Consistent pedal feel throughout a run session. As Paul said, a little less bite than the Pagid RS14. We have plenty of the PF06 front and rear in stock for both the Boxster and Boxster S.

I wasn't being clear, I'ved used either 01 or 06 on all 4 corners. But since 01 rears are hard to get, I'll try 01 front and 06 rear later this year, but yeah, generally the car could use a little more rear bias.
