I had Alcon floating rotors on one of my cars and really liked them. Wore the down to the bottom of the slots with no serious cracking or vibration. They were noisey driving through the pits.

Based on the wear I thought they were cheaper than OEM after the initial purchase price.

Do these fit a 2009+ Carrera S and new GTS? The GTS is a wide body. I thought the stock rotors were 350mm...not 318mm???

The 05-08 997 base Carrera has the 318 mm while the 997S / 4S from 05-08 has the a 330mm and the 09 and up has a 350 mm. So, to answer your question... These will not fit a 09 997S or GTS. Sorry

I actually just looked up the tech specs on the Porsche website and it says front and rear are 12.9" or 330mm discs. I was wrong thinking they were 350mm front. I know Giro disc offers a larger front disc. Would the Alcon's now fit??

These would be smaller... As they are OEM replacements for the 318 mm rotor size.
If the Girodisc is more to your liking do a search and you will find numerous threads about that product. or call Criag at the Rennstore.

Just as a side note, there are atleast 3 different types/brands of rotors run in GA that I am aware of. Alcon,AP, and Brembo. All are better products over the stock rotors, but some pros and cons to each.

ANYTHING is better than the stock rotors, especially the ones with holes in them. Glad to see some aftermarket options, especially floating rotors for the hardcore track cars.

So did we decide if they are a just a two piece (rotor/hat) combo or if they are a true floating assembly?

See to the left. The AP rotor might be a money saver over the long run, despite the price of admission.

They are true Flaoting Rotors... Not 2 pieces bolted together. The cost of admission aside... The maintaince cost of Alcon is lower then AP.... and (in my mind) equal to or better performance.

Let me add that everyone must keep this in mind... These are ment as Direct OEM replacements for the 318 x 28 rotor application and the design for a full floating configuration is to provide that... No shims placed under the caliper... no other mods to your cars configuration. While other applications within the Alcon product line have the mounting configurations you are more used to seeing. The current GT3 shapes that are availible have a similar style as the others.

Just curious, unless it's not allowed in your current race class then why wouldn't you want to shim the caliper further out ? Longer lever = more clamping force = better braking.
