I don't think a GT should have to hold the line, off the racing line, going into a turn. He should not have to endanger his car in a low grip area.

Driver error on McNish's part, but these are the risks in mixed class racing when cars of huge speed differences share the same part of the track at the same time. Good to see nobody was hurt ... or at least this is what we think (nobody was hurt).

So glad he's ok but really worried that someone got hurt, no word yet. There's a tire still bouncing around at the end of the clip in the photog area.
Eurosport announced there were no injuries some time ago

Announcers had just finished saying how absurdly difficult it is to see out of those cars.....don't know if that contributed but it couldn't have helped.

Hope Porsche gets some luck it's way. Just don't see how these RSR's are competitive to the other competitors.

Ed,
As I understand 'holding the line' (the racing line) is driving the car on the optimal line for that part of the track as if you had the tract to yourself, not as you seem to think giving up the apex (in this case) so that the passing car can have it. By driving the line it adds some predictability (ha) and then its up the the overtaking car to pass safely.

RSRs might outlast, but that's about it.

That was my point, he was on "the line".

Oh so this is where everyone is! Regarding lastest development, yeah I think Alan F'd up! Don't see where he thought he was gonna go! Glad he's OK and no one was hurt! Don't see how the car did not go over the fence and into the crowd, thank God it did not!

This is due to the supposed Balance of Performance, but what the ACO has actually done, is totally unbalance the performance .A shame really!
It's all BMW's to loose really.
ACO. I sometimes think they're tired of Porsches..

Really crazy move to try there so early in the race, glad he is ok.

Everyone needs a mechanical issue for the Porsche to win in the pro class. We may have a better chance in the amateur class

probably too aggressive that early but having to listen to scott pruett pontificate is classless. he should make his point and move on.

The interview with Daryl Waltrip was laughable. 8 sec off pace according to DW. Interesting...

I'll make the call now - DW goes off big in the night sessions.
