No, not at all, but I also think that the driver of the ZR-1 was driving it like it can be driven which appears to be a little lazy looking. I think this of many V8 drivers though. They are just very forgiving due to all that low down torque. However I still think he drove pretty damn well and also pretty damn fast.

1-2 sec on the table; possibly. Not more than that though.

In my experience.

IMO he has time available on improving corner entry in many places. How much time? Who knows. Guessing is as futile as wondering how many weiner pictures Little Anthony has sent to women other than his wife.

There'd be more time on both corner entry and exit, if he REALLY wanted to lean hard on the electronics... but as I said - maybe 1-2s, not very much.

I know a guy who can lean harder on the electronics, picking up those tenths. But he's not as fast as Mero in other spots, where it counts more...

I've ran the Z06s on the track and they are beasts!!! Tons of Bang for the Buck!!!

I thought this was the racing forum, am I in the wrong place? Not sure how folks can criticize an interior on a car that lays down a sub 7.20 on the Ring. At least in the racing forum. And I'm ESPECIALLY confused about how some folks can call it "inexcusable" when the car costs half as much as anything that can run with it. Again, in the racing forum. Shouldn't the "cheap interior" comments be saved for, I don't know, the detailing forum? And shoot, the prior generation Boxsters and 911's haven't really impressed me that much with their interiors, anyway.

Totally agree. I was blown away at how cheap the 996 interior is for how much the car costs. At least with the ZR1 you have a complete beast of a car to somewhat compensate...

Really people. Keep arguing with Vaughn who's probably seen the data from that lap. He doesn't have to guess like the rest of us. I've watched the Vette engineers do testing at VIR. They are top notch professional drivers.

There is a few new vettes that run at some DE's in the northeast advanced group. These cars fly! Bang for your buck you can not beat the vette. However many of these guys do not have enough safety equipment, especially a roll bar to match the speed of the car.

Is this the "race car only" forum? I am pretty sure I can read and I see the words "Drivers Education" in the forum name. Can you? A lot of people here race or DE their cars and also drive them on the street.

If I were buying a Corvette as a dedicated race car, I am right there with you. I would not care about the interior one lick since most of it going away anyway. But, if it is my street car too, I want an interior that doesn't make me think I am driving a hot-rodded Yugo. The interior quality becomes an issue when it is not all about going fast and you have to live with the ergonomics on a daily basis. You know, driving to pick up groceries, commuting to work, driving along the coast or in the mountains.

While certain 911 and Boxster models have had interiors that were not all that great, they have been significantly better than what Chevy has provided in the Corvette.

If you want to give Chevy a pass on the Corvette interior because the performance is so good, that is your prerogative. But don't get all indignant because someone else cares about the interior quality and points out the cheapness of the Corvette interior.

Scott
