I don't think it will turn worth snot with that narrow front track. Thankfully there are no corners at LeMans.

I'm willing to suspend disbelief on the basis that the guys involved in this project are serious players with extensive experience and knowledge. While its hard to see how the narrow front track geometry will work well enough to be competitive, its a fair bet that Duncan Dayton and Dan Gurney have asked the same questions and that the answers have been sufficient to persuade them to put their money and their reputations on the line. I give them credit for having the stones to back the project and look forward to seeing the car on track. Then we will see if they truly are smarter than the armchair designers.

It does fall into the "wow" category. I'm having a hard time conceptualizing hard braking (and rotation) and the traditional concepts of understeer and oversteer with this thing. I get the low drag argument, but will 300 hp make it go 230 mph???

I got a chance to see the mock up at Ganassi's shop over the winter. It is a very odd beast. I agree with tony, with the players involve, I have to believe that it will work. Should be interesting

You guys are assuming that all steering will be done with the front wheels.
(Not that I have any insight into them using rear steering)

Just because "big names" are involved does not mean it will succeed or actually has merit. Look at this unmitigated flop:

The Delta Wing is better suited to Bonneville than Le Mans.

And how would like that thing to t-bone you at speed? The force will not be spread over a large area...it's a missile!

Rear turning good point but would cost WAY too much for IRL

Back when they were pitching this concept for Indycars, the concept included thrust vectoring for cornering. There is a statement in the press release about not needing the chasis to be stiff, so it has to be the same concept here.

Why the hell not? Should be fun.

Yes, thrust vectoring via differential control.

It won't work. It won't turn in, and it has no front roll rate. For proof I offer the infamous Tyrell 6 wheeler that had to have its front track radically widened because when it was narrow......it didn't work.
