Default Austin F1 Track Location

I saw the schedule for the Austin F1 race we just announced and was looking at hotels. I cant find any info on exactly where the track was so for those that know, where would be the best place to stay? Would staying downtown Austin be feasible? Anyone with info would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
Brian

The land for the track hasn't been purchased yet so there are a few options. Could end up being in Dallas actually.

Huh? you are FOS. Construction is well underway.

Location is several miles SE of our airport, in the town of Elroy.

Elroy? I thought Topeka was also being discussed.

The track is 20 minutes (no traffic) SE of downtown, anywhere central will be fine. There are few hotels in South Austin, and the ones that are there are old and sucky, except the San Jose and St. Cecelia. There are a few hotel/suites near the airport but not many keys near the track itself. Even going far North is fine since they built I-30 and 183 is also easy. Lots more hotel options when you get into North Austin, Round Rock, Georgetown...

Dude, it isn't Topeka, it's Tijuana!

I think Ilko is actually Frank Bullitt trying to revive a little controversy

I don't know that Frank character, I'm just trying to be a courteous and helpful member on this forum.

San Antonio, New Braunfels and San Marcos hotels are an option as well. There are somenice B&B's in Bastrop and Smithville too. Thank goodness I still have family in San Antonio! No worries on accomodations next summer.
