Default Hoosier H20

Well after about 5 years, I believe my radial wets have finally become bricks. Does anyone have experience with the new Hoosier H20 tire? Is it a step forward?

Also, for my 944, I can install either 205 or 225 widths. I'm thinking of the narrower tire to increase force per area. Any anybody done back to back comparisons?

Thanks.

I heard from one of the best pca club racer drivers I know that the h20 is a major improvement.

I have heard the same thing from several people, but have no first hand experience with them yet.

I had a set at Mid Ohio and found them to be a big improvement. They were rally great in the wet but I was able to run them on a drying line and never got any blisters, plus had great grip. The new compound is fantastic.

I would like to hear a comment about sizing relative to your dry tire size? Smaller = Better??? More pressure per inch???

I've heard this too... but then wouldn't the same hold true for dry tires? It doesn't make any sense...

Also I certainly don't see any pro teams racing on skinny rain tires...

Does anyone here really know the answer to this?

Narrower tires will provide better resistance to hydroplaning if there is deep water. They will also heat up faster due to less volume of rubber.

So, whether narrower is better depends on how wet it is...

I ran the same size tire in the H20 and the dry tire. As I stated above, I couldnt believe how good the grip was in both wet and drying conditions. On the old Hoosier wets I would have burned them up in the drying conditions.
