I like his choices. Speed 8 -- Sha-wing!

By the way, the author of this piece is the guy who wrote "Go Like Hell", the book about the Ferrari vs Ford GT and Enzo vs The Deuce wars of the '60s.

Can't wait to watch the race..... The old designs remain timeless in beauty.

My favorite (after the 917 of course) is the Peugeot 905B. That thing was way ahead of its time... won LeMans in 92.

Wow, '92. It looks like it could just about turn out today.

I'll throw in the Jag D type and the one off special XJ13.

Actually, the 905 won in both 1992 and 1993, and what driver crews they had !

Anyone know whatever happened to Yannick Dalmas?

Regards to all,
DS

The Group C cars have always been my favorite, but the 911 GT1 98 is a STELLAR looking car. I have dreams about that car!

Thanks, Mike. I'd looked for some time and just couldn't find much on Dalmas, who I regard as one of the top guys of Group C era, even if you ignore his back-flip-with-a-twist at Road Atlanta in 1998 - that one in Brad's choice, the Porsche GT-1 98.

BTW, two of the faves in this discussion, the Peugeot 905 and the Toyota GT One, were both designed by the same guy - Andre de Cortanze. Interesting to note that, when it designed the current 908 (which, it appears, may have the better of the Audis next weekend at Le Mans), Peugeot did not go with de Cortanze, who's now with Pescarolo.

Regards to all.
