Question Austin USGP's most inexpensive race day tickets to be priced north of $200. Worth it?

Just to be RIGHT there? What about the anticipated traffic nightmare? That a worry? Time of year something to consider?

Cast your votes amigos.

WTF? Is that a fact?

My tickets in Monaco were cheaper and they were not the cheapest tickets where you sit on the hill underbthe palace which IIRC were about $100.

No doubt Austin track and surroundings will be nice but it wont be Monaco.

Someone has to pay for that $280,000,000 shrine to motorsport. Ol' Red McCombs didn't become a billionaire through philanthropy. It is cheaper than Montreal right?

Holy Scheissballs amigo... I sat on that very same hill in Monoco a million years ago. It was AWESOME. My very favorite is Spa however, even though I've been to Hockenheim a dozen times.

Probably my biggest concern about the Austin race is the traffic. THAT is the ONE thing they have got to get a handle on in time for the very first race... or else.

Jeez, so much whining. A new F1 track in the US, and your hating, even bad pizza is good.

Just don't go amigo, simple.

It does not to appear to be inline with other Grand Prix ticket prices.

You are just takng potshots because you don't lke some here and they are for the Austin circuit and Grand Prix.

The $280MM site also includes an entertainment complex and meeting center.

Red McCombs is a Billionare and he knows what he can charge. The Super Bowl ticket prices this year are inline with what MIGHT BE CHARGED.

So if you can't get the climate conditions of other Grand Prixs correct what makes you think that you know if the tickect pricing is correct for the event?

My gut tells me that this venue will miss the 2012 race date. Best time for them would be either May or September as Austin, Texas can get brutally hot with humidity pushing 80% during the summer. And by summer, I'm speaking of a Texas Summer... which typically runs from early May to early October.

The 1984 Dallas USGP was on July 8th and it was insanely HOT. Thing to remember is that Dallas is 200 miles north of Austin and nowhere near as humid. It's this heat index that kills you, as you well know.

There in the flesh witnessing my beloved Lotus Team and Mansell passing out was a freaking intense thing to witness. Happy technology has made it better for the drivers these days

Why you acting all crazy?

Thinking outside the box, you really needed to pick a male equivalent of 'Debbie Downer'... which of course is 'Bob Bummer'.

$200 doesn't sound bad for a bleacher seat; a little pricey for general admission though. Don't forget that there are many out there who pay quite a bit more than that for every football game that they go to. And how about concert prices? Considering what it takes to put a venue like that together, the price is in line.

As a data point, I paid $360 for great raceday seats at Montreal ($485 for the weekend IIRC).

Have payed out the wazoo when in Europa for these events. Another reason why I miss Indianapolis and their awesome $85 seats... which I don't believe changed in price the entire time the USGP was hosted there.

My feeling is if "they" want to grab some new fans, "they" had best throw out some love. Just sayin' dude.

Hope you mix drinks better than you do metaphors amigo. Slightly concerned about the ticket prices of the new and exciting upcoming USGP in Austin, Texas. Apparently others here feel the same.

Make it easy on yourself and don't read my posts.

P.S. How did you vote by the way?
