Tavo Hellmund, promoter for the Austin USGP, has said on many occasions that the Circuit will be completed June 2012.
It seems that they are on schedule.

Sauvo Hellmund is a PROMOTER. He'd promise you a race on Luna Seca, yes the ACTUAL moon... if he thought he could get away with it.

For the very same reason that it was never allowed @ IMS. Really doubt that you're ever see an SCCA sanctioned event here either. Great fantasy to believe everyone will be having access to a brand new world-class track, that DE instructors will be setting up shop in the infield, and you'll be able to wring out any Victor of your dreams during certain weekend open days. ![Frown](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
The only thing this infield will be seeing are Roach Coaches.![evilgrin](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/evilgrin.gif)

Have always really liked Austin. It's still a very provincial little ville yet I feel a very strong connection to this part of Texas... for some very odd reason. What I do NOT care for is the way this Sauvo Hellmund and the 1000-year-old Red McCombs did their thang.
Heard that base ticket prices will be $200 + for the inaugural race.

Irrespective of the insane rantings & utter BS being spewed by Frank Bull****t regarding this track, PCA is already in negotiations for renting one of the track configurations for DE's and cluub races. The track WILL be renting to clubs. As for when? No clue. Obviiously their first priority is finishing the track for FIA certification in June 2012, with a probably first race date that fall.

Don't blame them really. You really don't want to get your $280,000,000 facility all messed up and those brand new gravel traps more than slightly askew.
