Ah F&%#*$#. I hate these buyouts. I really like Motons and I hope that they don't screw them up.

Anyone remember Kinesis Wheels?

It is official. I saw AST getting access to Motons office in Atlanta on Tuesday. I was at Motorwerks Racing when Lex stopped by and was telling me about AST being there to take over the shop. Talked to Brain and Peter from AST very briefly and everything seems to be on the up and up there. They are proud of the brand they bought. Maybe Brian will comment on here with their intents of the Moton brand name.

From a very official source:

"Lex Carson and Kent McCray have decided to pursue other interests."

As I previously had stated, I will follow Lex and Kent regardless of the company name, it is their service and their commitment to work with the best products that I have come to depend on.

I am sure a forthcoming announcement will be soon to update the public a little more.

I do admit that it is sad to see Moton being merged but at this point in the game it's purely business decisions and Moton is just a name, names come and go.

Thats REALLY tragic as those gentlemen really built the brand and made it what it is today. Its those fellows efforts is what separated them from everyone else.

Providing the same level of customer support & service to dealers as well as end users will be a tall order.

Lex and Kent to JRZ? Ohlins?

There has to be some reason they decided not to stay. Either way it looks bad for AST. If they DECIDED to leave, then there must be something they didn't like about the new company. If they were FORCED to leave, then that brings AST's decision making into question.

This is not good for Moton the brand.

I'm going to say they were smart to go. If you have ever been through an acquisition like I have it's better to get out early.

Was ready to get a set of Motons for a customer. With the turmoil and no words from the buyers I decided to go with some Penskes. They are trying hard to get in the Porsche market. Will see how testing goes at Sebring this weekend.
