944 Cup @ Mosport

Since you've been there... What kind of car, truck, trailer documentation did you need to cross the border and back? Any other advice?
My original 911 was licensed for the street, so I just carried the registration with me. That works for the truck & trailer. With the 944, I'm carrying a copy of my bill of sale, since I've never titled it. I also have written up an trailer contents inventory: ie 1 set hoosier wets and rims, 2 sets hoosier drys and rims, mountain bike, etc, etc. In theory, you can get it stamped this side of the US border by customs, but I never do. I've been asked once for it by US customs, they just glanced at it and said ok.
Generally they have been interested if you are bringing in items without paying duty on them. It may be more security focused now. All my trips have been generally hassle free both ways across the border. It's been "hi, lets see your documents. Where have you been? Where are you going? What's in the trailer? Did you win? Have a nice day"
As for other advice, be aware that access into Mosport paddock with a trailer is across the track. There isn't a bridge. There's a tunnel your truck can squeeze through, but not the trailer. If the track is hot, you have to wait to get in or out. That means when we finish up on Sunday, we need to find out when the next track opening is scheduled and be prepared to leave. Otherwise you can be sitting for the next couple of hours instead of hauling down the road to VA. And speaking of Mosport, it's a great track with loads of 60's and 70's charm. Like no internet, no power in the paddock. Enjoy!

If electricity is desired, there are some spots under the Cup tent that come with electricity. On getting out of the track on sunday, the track breaks for lunch when we finish our 2nd Sunday race at 12:15 until 1:30. The next us is NASCAR race which goes to 3: 15.

What a great event!!! 944 Cup rocks
Thanks to my sponsor Hardent - Turnkey Electronic Solutions. I had a blast.
I was in the primary car for Saturday and qualified in 5th in the rain. I was very proud of myself, as I only had 1 lap to do it, the session was red flagged 2 times. It was a first for me at Mosport in the rain (slight drizzle) and I don't have lots of experience (3 sessions in the rain in my entire life...). I finished 7th. Coulda been better, as I did put the wrong tires on the car before the race...
Sunday I was driving the back-up car. I was starting 8th overall, picked one spot at the start, kept it through 5b, then 5 five cars passed me on the straight... Yep, this car had the least amount of horsepower of the whole pack. Nonetheless, I had so much fun battling more powerful cars!!!
Videos to come (if the GoPro worked…).

The Final Cup Alcohol Consumption Standings:
* 18 bottles of champagne
* Lost count after 8 cases
All compliments of Hardent, Inc . Thanks for the memorable weekend, what I can remember of it.
Canadian 2 step race strategy: Step 1: get fellow competitor drunk nite before race. Step 2: Beat snot out of fellow competitor next day.
