semi solid vs. solid transmission mounts

semi solid vs. solid transmission mounts
I have an 84 911 with a 3.6 conversion. I have had buckets of trouble with the 915 in the car (which I purchased two years ago). I think it comes down the the tranny guy doing/not doing the work.
Anyway, I was having third gear popout at corner exit. I initially thought it was a linkage problem or a broken mount causing twisting. Neither was the the issue. After opening the transmission, we discovered an entire host of issues.
As such it is being rebuilt (again) as we speak. I was going to go ahead and replace the tranny mounts while it was out. The engine mounts are solid. I have heard two schools of thought on solid vs. semi-solid. This is a dedicated track car.
On the one hand, i am told that solid mounts will tear things up. However, I want to make certain that I have eliminated any twisting.
Your thoughts and opinions would be valued.
Thanks!
