Yeah, Vaughn, that sounds great! And a 56 sec lap, with the chicane! Motorcycle engine gives a sequential box, so that's a hell of a ride. Only caveat; those things are small.

Open cockpit = the ability to show off gravel scuff marks and rubber streaks on your helmet.

Side story: First day at competition school, I'm unloading the car and I see a guy in the paddock unloading Windex. I think, "Crap! I didn't bring ...." Oh yah, no need for Windex when you wear your windshield on your face.

^^You still need to clean your visor. Try being stuck behind a Vee for a corner.

I was grouped with several Vees for comp school and had lots of oil streaks to contend with!

Great video. Looks like the camera car found the old Herbie motor.

Camera car is a F/F coming from the back of the field. A Swift.

That would explain it! It is funny being on track with Vees. From behind they look like 1930s Indy Cars. They run ridiculous slip angles, and they make SRFs look like LMP cars in the straights. But they are a close-knit, supportive group.

They don't look like much fun at all to me, even the guy in the F/F tells me they're way slow....

speed is relative, the racing at good fields is INCREDIBLE. winning margins measured in thousandths of a second, etc.

At the big events you'll see the first five who've changed positions 10 times a lap come around the final turn and then see all five split and make a run to S/F. Crazy stuff.

Camera car looks like a Swift DB1 who was pretty tentative in the beginning. Telltales to distinquish it from a Vee would be the big front tires (relative to the FV

Try running a Vee and contending with that the entire race. Rule #1: Never wipe your visor. The video below shows my view at the end of a sprint race at Mid Oh. Visibility = zero. The racing is very tight and very competitive in Vee.

Here's a hot dice in F/F that the same Swift buddy just sent me, later in that race:
