Default Baltimore Grand Prix/ALMS race feeler

Just putting this out to get an idea if there's any interest.

My son has a renovated "row house" in Canton (downtown Baltimore). He and I are at the end of another renovation that he will be moving into within the next few weeks. That will leave the other house empty and I told him that if it hasnt sold (yeah right, in this market) we should consider renting it for the Labor day weekend race. The house has 3 bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths. It'll be furnished and somewhat stocked with food and drinks. It's about 2 miles from the track and surrounded by great restaurants and night life. Come in Thursday and catch the leauge leading, undefeated Orioles at the Yard and stay the weekend and see all the racing.

Tim, what a great offer. I live about an hour to Baltimore, so I'll be at the Grand Prix, won't take up your space, but hopefully we'll get together. There will be some interesting activities, some details will come next month.

Cheers,

Tim,

Would love to take you up on your offer as we plan to run GTC there.

How can I email you directly?

Thanks,

James

Very nice offer, indeed!

The Scuttlebutt is:

"Rumors of cash shortages, missed payments, and layoffs in Baltimore Grand Prix persist. Just rumors tonight, but..."

Curious -- is that what is reflected in the local media?
Could be a sweet new venue if they can pull it off!

I'll be there. One of my high school buddies owns Pickles Pub across from Camden Yards so I will definitely be there since Pickles is across from the main strait and where the pits will be. Just emailed him to see what the deal is with the event since being a local business owner, he knows a lot about what is going on.

Their website is up: http://baltimoregrandprix.com/

Room rates for most of the big chaim hotels downtown are several hundred dollars per night, almost double their usual rack rate. The Marriott is $399.00 per night. The house deal might be a deal at the right price.

If you're asking about parking at the house there's usually enough room for at least 2 cars if not more.

I hadn't planned on going to this even though I'm less than an hour away, but it just dawned on me I might actually be able to get close enough to Danika to tell her that she is the most highly acclaimed 12 place finisher in history.

What were you thinking? About $800 a night with 3 night minimum? Let me know.

I might show up just to see you two go at it. Pointing, screaming, spitting, shoving, and then the inevitable embrace, liplock and heavy breathing on the side pod of an Indy Car.

On a serious note, is SCCA or NASA or PCA going to offer any group perks?
